FrankGroup began as FrankAdvice, a values-led policy consultancy founded by Emily Mason in 2019.

Drawing on 20 years’ experience in the public sector, Emily wanted to create policy consultancy that focused on not only producing great work, but also providing a great place to work, and so the journey began.

When her childhood family friend, Nicole Howarth, joined in 2020, the two quickly realised that working with one person, one agency, one issue at a time was not enough to solve the number of challenges society faces. FrankCapability was born in 2021 to increase our ability to help every person, everywhere, learn processes for providing rigorous and useful advice to decision makers and senior leaders.

And, at the end of 2023, FrankCommunity was born. FrankCommunity is our way of keeping people connected and supported in the work they do. It creates space for learning from, and with, each other.

We have had the pleasure to work with clients from central government, local government and the not-for-profit and private sectors across consultancy and training.

We can produce great advice for Ministers, Boards and Senior Executives. This includes briefings and Cabinet papers, strategies, implementation planning, and workshops. As part of our end-to-end service, we can also train people to improve how they do this work themselves.
